Solo Vocal Festival
This festival is open to students enrolled in year 8, 9 & 10 music courses in Western
Australian Government Secondary Schools. Students must be studying singing voice with teachers provided either by SIM or by their school.
In 2009, the Festival will be held at the School of Instrumental Music on Saturday, 31 October and Sunday, 1 November.
Applications have now closed for this year's festival. Performance times have been posted/distributed to vocal teachers.

Grading
This is a non-competitive event.There will be no percentage gradings. Each participant will receive a report on his/her performance.
Information
- Participants are encouraged to use their own accompanist. An accompanist is available for participants who are unable to provide their own and have ticked the “Accomp. needed?” box on the Application Form.
- Backing CDs are permitted for participants in the Jazz/Contemporary & Music Theatre sections. CDs are not to include backing vocals.
- Duration of songs may not exceed 4 minutes.
- Participants may perform in one section only. Participants may perform only one song in their nominated section.
- Participants must state on the entry form the title and composer of the song they intend to perform in each section entered. A different song will not be accepted.
- Photocopies of songs for the adjudicator are to be handed in prior to the start of each
section. These copies will not be returned.
Remember that participants will need an additional copy of music for their accompanist.
- There will be no charge for audience entry to the workshops. Members of the audience are to be seated prior to the start of each section.
- Participants must be warmed up and seated in the auditorium prior to the start of each section. Warm-up facilities will be available.
